4.0 star rating	Lobby and public rooms of an outstanding quality. Staff are extremely attentative. Breakfast was superb.	The room we stayed in was a little weary and needs refurbishment. Carpet was marked and bathroom had areas of mould around tiles etc but this did not affect our enjoyment of the hotel.		16 February 2009
4.5 star rating	very proffesional,staff good, sandard of hotel great but try to make extra money from you at every turn ie most hotels have free wifi these days not the istana Â£3pound per hour. taxis outside book with hotel almost twice what the drivers will quote beware other than that breakfast to die for and rooms as you would expect.		staff try very hard	20 September 2009
4.5 star rating	friendly and professional staff, well located. excellent breakfast in terms of choice of food and services,in particular a chinese female reception staff at breakfast area introduced us to the cakes offered for sale at the small cake shop.	no free wifi for hotel guess at public area, the furnishing near the check in area is very outdated, it would have been nice to have a no smoking policy in the public area.		13 October 2009
3.5 star rating	The room was lovely - the room was enormous and it was very comfortable. The service was good; we called for extra bottles of water at 5 am and the guest services staff were very obliging and delivered them straight away.	I booked the club floor as I wanted access to the executive lounge, however the executive lounge was a huge disappointment and nowhere near as good as the one at Traders Hotel at KLCC, where I previously stayed. The alcohol was of a very poor quality (the liquor was bootleg liquor?), the food was cold and the quih was terrible. I will definitely not be booking at club room at the Istana again as it was really not worth the extra expense. In terms of the room, the grouting in the shower really could have been cleaner. And the bathtub looked worn. Not what you'd expect from a 5 start hotel. I think Istana could also do a lot more to improve the TV channels available - they were one of the worst selection I have seen in a while!	N/A	06 March 2013

4.0 star rating	The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Check in and out was fast and efficient.	For a 5 star hotel I believe that wifi should be available in the rooms and not only in the lobby. This is essential today and I note that other hotels have this. 3.5 star rating	the hotel is nice but aging - not have been graded as 5 stars. room facilities from washroom to TV were nice, but not top notch as you would expect from that level.	On my last morning the hotel door man "helped" getting me into a wrong cab, not that one I ordered online (and as a result I paid more for that trip).	Anonymous	14 October 2014
4.0 star rating	Great location and facilities setup	The rooms needs to be refurbished urgently. The touch up paint in the bathroom was really bad and the paint was peeling in the shower. 4.5 star rating	Second time staying at hotel over 3 year period. It is located in a convenient part of town to get around, has some great shopping around and close to monorail if you like getting around with the locals. The staff are great. 5.0 star rating	Only stayed at the hotel one night but were impressed from the moment we set foot. The lobby staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The phone call received in the room to check if we settled in ok was appreciated as I didn't have to call and ask for anything we still required. The dinner was amazing!! We definitely will be fining there again. Didn't have breakfast there as we had to leave early but were offered a packed breakfast for our departure. The live band is fantastic and so energetic!! Will definitely stay there again.	If the hotel has a kids club that would be a winner. Our kids love kids club and would be disappointed if we stay there again with no kids club. 4.0 star rating	Cooperative staff. beautiful and spacious lobby. Swimming Pools (one for small children). Big Gym, Jacuzzi, Steam Room, Suana. Twin Towers were visible from our room window 10th Floor. A good variety of food, western, Chinese, Malay, Vegetarian. One can always find his favorite dishes. Excellent location within city center. Twin towers, KL Tower (we did not visit) nearby. Famous food chain restaurants in the area, McDonald's, Papa John's, KFC, Pizza hut, Arabic Shawarma and other restaurants. Very near (just across the road) to Raja Cholan monorail station.	Although spacious, but rooms are a bit old. 4.0 star rating	Excellent location. Well priced. Great breakfast.	Room needs some upgrades. Called the restaurant about bringing a bottle of wine. Was told yes on phone from room. 5.0 star rating	Probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The staff were so professional and understanding as me and my sister had our little kids with us ad they were very polite to them, even though they were noisy. From looking after my baby niece whilst we were sitting in the Songkeet Lounge to someone coming up to get my boy's toy bullet that they shot into the ceiling. They went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. Our rooms were spacious, clean and nicely maintained and the shower was to die for. Located very near the monorail and all the major shops and also Jalan Alor. When i come back to KL again this is where i'll be staying.	None	Steffy	21 January 2016
