This refined hotel is situated right on Berlin's famous KurfÃ¼rstendamm boulevard, housed in a historic turn-of-the-century building that combines history and design. The hotel is by the area's exclusive shops, boutiques and designer stores, as well as the Berlin Theatre and KomÃ¶die am KurfÃ¼rstendamm. In the vicinity, there are a number of excellent restaurants, as well as public transportation links to the many points of interest in this vibrant city.

3.0 star rating	Very central location, excellent for short stay. I stayed alone and had a very spacious room, not always the case as a solo traveller. The bed was comfortable and the room did not get outside noise (just usual hotel noise, guests returning late etc). I appreciated the mini bar which, although I didn't use the stock, was invaluable for keeping water, fruit, yoghurt etc and there were nice touches like pen and paper, shoe cleaner, shower cap, even a shoe horn.	The shower smelt a little mouldy and on inspection, there was quite a lot of mould visible in one corner. The toilet could have done with a good clean, nothing horrendous, just a build-up of dirt around the water level. Also not good quality toilet paper for such an upmarket hotel. The sink was chipped and in general the bathroom, though sizeable, was rather shabby. I'd also have liked a kettle in the room but this doesn't seem to be common in Europe.		04 October 2008

3.5 star rating	Good sized room (booked superior room and disabled room). Very accessible for wheelchair - especially the bathroom. Hotel very clean and freshly decorated.	Hotel staff were not very friendly - rather officious. Needed to ask repeatedly for top up of toiletries and loo roll. Computer room not accessible. No staff evident at breakfast - if I had been travelling alone, I would have struggled with help.		24 November 2008
