4.5 star ratingThe hotel is located in a very nice place, the room is big enough, and nice balcony. I will definitely book the hotel if I tavel to Bali again.31 May 2009
5.0 star ratingI just love this place. This was my second visit but won't be my last. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They remember your name and are very accommodating. The Balinese boreh massage was amazing-especially with the sound of the river a stone's throw away. The entire hotel has such a sense of tranquility. The pace is slow and restful. Tjampuhan Hotel is a visual feast- just beautiful. Lots and lots of steps. However, the hotel is built into the steep embankment of a river. It is traditional and charming but also tiring climbing so many steps.Anonymous 08 June 2014
3.5 star ratingBeautiful place, relaxing and close to Ubud town centre.Didn't realise there were so many steps!!Anonymous 22 December 2014
4.5 star ratingLocation, location, location. This hotel is built into the side of the valley, with wonderful gardens, fantastic views and friendly helpful staff. Our rooms were large and airy, however, the bathrooms are showing their age. Renovations are underway throughout the hotel to resolve this.Anonymous 16 January 2015
4.5 star ratingGreat value for money. Excellent, extremely helpful and the most polite staff and Managers we had the fortune to meet, place very close to town and other facilities, nice views from room, fantastic breakfast.Rooms with renovated bathrooms are the best. We stayed in Lebah 3 and Pura 4. Will go back there. High Five to Managers Astra, Gusti and their staff for making our stay "the Best".Anonymous 02 February 2015
5.0 star ratingThis is a truly beautiful hotel. A little bit if paradise in Bali. The staff were absolutely wonderful and the breakfast was amazing. Beautiful spring pool and normal pool as well. Highly recommend this hotel and I will be back there once again.Anonymous 10 June 2015
4.5 star ratingStaff are sensational and very friendly making for a very relaxing holiday. Great service, no need to eat out as the restaurant provides excellent meals. The two pools are welcoming as is the stroll through the extensive gardens. This old resort ( built for the Royals in 1928) still has charm and olde world service principles. I can see why many guest have been here several times. Anonymous 10 June 2015
5.0 star ratingFabulous!......as alwaysAnonymous 12 June 2015

4.0 star ratingI have stayed at Tjampuhan twice, and at other hotels in Ubud. I will always go back to tjampuhan. it feels like home for me now. close to town, not flashy, but beautiful setting. fantastic staff, and thoroughly enjoyable. you would be hard pressed to beat the location. and a massage overlooking the river in lush tropical tranquility is hard to beat.lots of steps!! ask for a quiet room. some renovation going on all the time, but only in daytime.Steph11 November 2015

4.5 star ratingThe ambience of the whole place was terrific. The carvings etc.. were unlIke anything I have seen. It felt lIke we were in the real Bali. The toilet smelt a bit. The steps were a bit tricky for my arthritis knees.Anonymous 09 March 2017
4.5 star ratingBeautiful stunning location and grounds. Lovely pools and spa. Grand looking rooms and very friendly staff.Slightly outside of Ubud but still walkable and they do put on a shuttle bus too. The only downside to the rooms... the windows don't close properly so we had 4 geckos crawl into a room at night, which we weren't too keen on!!Vic07 March 2017
5.0 star ratingWe only stayed one night & found this to be a great place. It's a big hotel with great facilities including in-house yoga and 2 pools. The staff were super helpful and the rooms AMAZING!Anonymous 22 August 2016
5.0 star ratingEverything is beautiful!!My first room wasn't as good as my second room, they are going to rerent my room as I leave at 5.30 tomorrow night,I really should get refunded half as only using it for 5hrs....just not happy about the rerenting of it! Otherwise apart from all of the stairs everything is great, stayed here twice. Ellie 09 August 2016
4.5 star ratingFantastic jungle paradise feel in a river canyon, lovely swimming pools, gorgeous and lush pathways. All good, but the best rooms are lower down, away from the road traffic.Anonymous 18 July 2016
3.5 star ratingSetting is beautiful, very calming.Bathrooms need renovating badly. Staff upon arrival very poor and unfriendly. Not enough beds around main pool and people leaving towels when not even near the pool area? Not 1 day bed available and yet not 1 person in pool. Annoying. 2nd pool lacks atmosphereAnonymous 23 August 2016
3.0 star ratingBathroom had mould growing in between the tiles. The doors had gaps between them so one night we had frogs in our room and could not ring the front desk for help because the phone did not work.Anonymous 31 May 2016
5.0 star ratingGreat staff, awesome viewsAnonymous 15 June 2016
4.5 star ratingBeautiful location with amazing views.Room was humid and mouldy.Anonymous 05 August 2016
5.0 star ratingThis is a beautiful traditional style hotel in an amazing setting and this is not the first time I have stayed there nor will it be the last. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Breakfast is great and plenty of it. Housekeeping do an amazing job in keeping the rooms spotless and checking for mozzie prevention every night and turning down the bed. Everytime they walk by they check to make sure everything is okay. The pools are great and the spa is to die for with its setting on the banks of the river. The only thing people need To be aware of is all the steps so would probably not getting suitable for anyone who is not capable of plenty of steps to rooms etc.Nothing negative to say!Krayzee20 August 2016
3.5 star ratingSpa is greatRooms need some work. Renovations were happening at entrance, but really needs rooms renovated. Very dated. It was cheap though, so you pay for what you get!Anonymous 20 July 2016
5.0 star ratingThe hotel is beautiful, it is ancestral and in harmony with nature. The staff is very nice and very helpful. Everything is accessible very quickly. The spa and massages are perfect. The hotel has only 3 stars but deserves widely 5. We will return!Petaire27 October 2016
5.0 star ratingThe view - gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Lovely spa, nice walk past the temple, incredibly helpful staff.Nothing comes to mind. Anonymous 14 September 2016
4.5 star ratingExcellent Buffet breakfast. Nice surroundings, good locationsBathrooms needs a renovation.Anonymous 13 October 2016
5.0 star ratingOMG, this place is beautiful. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are clean and really well maintained. The restaurant is lovely. Breakfast buffets were wonderful although ate way too much. Everywhere you look needs a photo taken. Only a short walk from middle of town but they run a shuttle every couple of hours. If I could have rated 10 out of 5 I would. STAY HEREThis wasn't a negative for us but if you would have trouble with stairs ask for a room closer to reception, there are a lot of steps because it is built on a hillside.Natalie15 September 2016
4.0 star ratingBeautiful setting, good location for walking into town or to the rice fields. The food was nice. The swimming pools are not safe for children. One has broken tiles that cut your feet, the other was better. But both went from shallow to very deep without any gradual slope. The deep is too deep for adults too, so when our son went under, it was difficult for us to rescue him. Melissa29 September 2016
5.0 star ratingThis traditional hotel is absolutely beautiful. I would encourage anybody to stay here for the amazing views and relaxing balinese atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was very nice. The rooms were large-we traveled with a toddler and 6 year old and had plenty of room. The shuttle bus was convenient-the driver even picked us up once out of regular times. Air conditioner was good in rooms.Georgina13 March 2016
4.5 star ratingThe hotel was overall amazing. But the bed was horrible. One of the most uncomfortable beds i have ever slept in.Kate15 January 2016
4.5 star ratingVery friendly and very helpful staff, good choice of food, beautiful hotel with its own "soul" like no other. I will definitely return to it again. The hotel is old and it feels in many details. In spite of heroic efforts of the staff to keep the hotel presentable and up to date it needs some renovation. It won't prevent me from coming back though, as positive impression from my stay here is far more bigger than negative.Alex Farafonov17 April 2016
5.0 star ratingThe hotel is absolutly fabulous and every dish we orded at the restaurant was incredible good cooked and tasted amazing.Anonym 13 March 2016
1.5 star ratingWas placed in a room next to construction, even at 8am! Loud hammering echoing through the whole place. It was also assumed that the spa pool was included in price as it appeared to be advertised as, but as everything in Bali it's actually extra money! And it wasn't exactly appropriate to swim in either as there were topless girls swimming in there who weren't rushing to cover up. Not very professional staff. They are nice until the day you are checking out then you are treated horrible. If any disputes they will only argue and won't go out of their way to come to a resolution. Will never stay here again. Anonymous 09 May 2016
4.0 star ratingLovely staff, beautiful resort and outlook over the forest. Susan28 March 2016
4.5 star ratingUnique location above the river valley with beautiful views. It retains its old world charm. The garden is not as well kept as our previous visit 8 years ago. Our room was close to the road and traffic and noise from a nearby club kept us awake. There was a lot of noise from a big building project during the day. Anonymous 04 May 2016
5.0 star ratingThis place is awesome . The location set amongst the jungle and river set the scene for an awesome stay. The staff are very polite and friendly and more than happy help for any of your needs.. the room was spotless, the bed was made and the room cleaned every day...well as for the breakfast and food in general was out standing.. on a hole I can't rate this place enough.. a definite stay for our next trip to Bali.bAnonymous 19 April 2016
5.0 star ratingAn amazing place - we will be back for more.Michael01 May 2016
2.0 star ratingThe views and gardens are amazing. -service terrible/ unprofessional -romantic candle lit dinner-terrible. No candle and they removed the dirty dishes from the room after 1pm the NEXT DAY animals were eating left overs. And everything was served at the same time! Dessert came with mains. Ordered cocktails we didn't get them. - pools and the little pools in the spa dirty. Pebbles 02 May 2016
