4.0 star ratingThe grounds and pool are excellent. I was also pleased, as a returning (4? Times) to get a room upgrade when I asked for a larger bed. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfasts in the front cafe are often lack freshness e.g. the banana pancakes are dried out from sitting too long in a Bain Marie. The a la carte back restaurant is much better. The hotel includes a river gorge so it's grounds are very steep in places which can be challenging to walk each day if you are at the back of the hotel. Golf buggy transport is available.Anonymous 18 October 2015
2.5 star ratingStaff are friendly even the grounds people always say good morning and seem happy, the location of the resort if perfect and the 2 infinity pools are nice.Initially put in a room up the back of the resort which was ok, however we opened the door to 5 wasps buzzing around the door near the bed and ants in the bathroom. The shower was a bath/shower (not an issue - very common) however the tiled frame of the bath collected the shower water which drained straight off the side and onto the bathroom floor - completely covering the floor in water within minutes. Meaning flooded floor mat and no dry floor to step onto to dry yourself and get dressed. We were traveling with 2 other couples and 1 of those had the same issue. We all got moved, and my husband and I were 'upgraded' to a deluxe room - we tried 2 deluxe rooms and neither TV worked, both were dirty and old with massive cracks in the walls from floor to ceiling and black mold around the bathroom floors and tiles and basins....we were told the deluxe rooms have issues with the booster for the reception. Great. We asked to just go back to our original booking and were taken to another superior room (close to the front of the hotel) which was just as bad - black hair in the bathroom, looked like the toilet had leaking issues as the silicone and tiles around the base was brown and dirty looking. The staff were only too happy to help find a suitable room and eventually upgraded us to a superior pool villa (outdoor bathroom, private plunge pool, large room etc) which was nice. I can't comment on its value as I don;t know how much it is to stay in these rooms. The room and bathroom was in much better shape than the other rooms were in or shown, but nothing fantastic and it also came with its own issues (air con kept turning off and wasn't very cold - maintenance were trying to get it working when we first arrived), no top sheet on the bed only a doona (which you couldn't use as the air con didn't work properly), and these rooms seem to have an overgrowth of mosquitoes especially in the later afternoon and around the pool . The doors to most rooms could be slide right across to each side (while locked together) to have an inch gap between the wall and door (allowing mosquitoes etc to enter your room). Breakfast has a few options, the rice and noodles were nice but everything else was very average. This hotel would not be suitable for elderly or people who are not easily mobile - due to the large number of stairs and the crazy gold cart ride it takes to get from one end of the hotel to the other (drive very fast with sharp turns and very steep hills (you could easily fall out the back if not holding on).Anonymous 01 March 2016
