This tasteful hotel is centrally located in the cultural area of Amsterdam, opposite the renowned Vondelpark in the peaceful Oud Zuid residential area of the city. The historical centre is about 15 minutes away.This modern city hotel is housed in a building that dates back to 1879 and comprises 32 rooms, of which 21 are doubles, spread over 3 floors. Facilities include a spacious foyer with a hotel safe, a breakfast room, Internet access as well as beautiful gardens.The welcoming, renovated rooms reflect the charm of the hotel and come with a large bathroom with a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, a radio, an Internet connection, central heating and a hire safe. The hotel also offers more economical rooms (Budget) with shared facilities (bathroom and toilet are shared). Further offerings within the carpeted rooms include ironing facilities and a sitting area.

2.5 star rating	Enjoyed the quiet location - good access to 'local' cafes and restaurants and the #2 Tram	not well maintained or cleaned. Sheets and towels seemed re-used. Found previous guests rubish under beds etc		13 September 2008
2.5 star rating	The staff were friendly and accommodating and the area was good, close enough to the museum quarter but quiet enough to not be disturbed. The number 2 tram runs outside and straight to the centre of Amsterdam so great location.	We had to ask to be moved from the first room we were placed. The room was tiny, there was only one chair although it was supposed to be a twin. The shelves in the wardrobe were lying at the bottom of the wardrobe and the 3 wire coathangers meant we were unable to unpack. The walls were scuffed and dirty. The second room was an improvement although the net curtains were filthy. We had to check out at 7am to get our flight and despite asking, were unable to get an early breakfast or even a hot drink; this meant that we paid for a breakfast we didn't receive. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.		24 September 2008

3.5 star rating	Receptionist at night was very helpful with sorting out trams / trains for my visit to RAI Centre next day.			29 October 2008
1.5 star rating	It is positioned in a quieter area of Amsterdam	Our room did not have ensuite facilities which was not made clear when booked through easy jet hotels, and the shared shower room and toilet were not too clean. Also the price of our stay did not reflect having to share facilities.		27 October 2008

3.5 star rating	Room warm and clean. On one of the main tram routes (no 2).	Small and oddly shaped - bathroom door wouldn't fully open as it hit the corner of the bed. Very little storage facility for clothes (kept in suitcase) - no kettle - had to ask reception for hairdryer.		17 February 2009
3.5 star rating	hotel staff was prompt and courteous in offering a better room at same price;	our room needed to be changed, because someone had broken the glass window in the shared bathroom the replacement room's bathroom cold water tap did not work		29 June 2009
