Controlled centrally - you can't set your desired temperature yourself. OK most of the year, but in mid summer you might ask for a room on the north side of the hotel (facing towards the river across the road). That way the sun will not fall on your window at all during the day and your room will be more comfortable. Location is not all that suitable for tourists - it's a long way from a subway station, and all the tourist sites in and near the city centre. A taxi into the city centre costs around 45 RMB and takes about 20 minutes. Make sure your taxi activates their meter when you set off. Taxi services have much improved in China in recent years, but there are still a few dishonest drivers around who fiddle with their meters. A taxi from this hotel to the Pudong airport should not cost more than 150RMB.	Wal	01 August 2015
