| 5.0 star rating | The hotel is four star standard, cheap at £120 for three nights, and in an interesting part of Hong Kong, Kowloon City, which is not on the normal tourist belt, so you see what the locals see. Once you have sussed the excellent Hong Kong transportation system, the Octopus card, then there are frequent buses: 5c,1a,9 to Star ferry and hence to Hong Kong island. Otherwise a taxi costs about six pounds sterling, which is still not excessive. | Those seeking instant access to the normal delights of Hong Kong may find the three quarters of an hour journey to Star Ferry or Nathan Road a bit excessive. But for those who enjoy being in a more real China than the glossy image, it is fine. Views from our room were over a beaten up tenement not towards the old Kaitak airfield and the distant view of Hong Kong Island.
