Kaomai Lanna Hotel and Resort is a unique boutique accommodation on the route from Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand. Our rooms are renovated from the former tobacco curing barns, decorated in contemporary Lanna style with colonial style teak wood antique furniture.
Kaomai Lanna comes from two northern Thai words. Kaomai means bush or a garden with big trees while Lanna is the name of the ancient northern Thai kingdom. Together Kaomai Lanna means the pleasant garden of Lanna
In the hotel's 20 acres' natural land, we preserve all long age tropical green garden, which makes our boutique resort perfect for the afternoon walk. Guests can also swim in our pleasant pool in the midst of the greens or get relaxed by our Thai professional masseurs. Looking at barns from outside, one can see the roof made of corrugated steel sheets, while the old red-brick walls remain the same as they have been for the past 50 years. But step inside it's different - two storey guestrooms each equipped with modern facillities,including a television, a refrigerator and a bathtube. Each tobacco curing-barn was built in a different size. Every rooms have different interior decorations, from windows to curtains, beds and sofas. First class facilities, those are kept in harmony with the beauty of nature surroundings, offer you restful comfort. The rare teak furniture from the northern provinces and Burma including old-fashioned Thai-style dressing tables and khong lekae (wooden boxes for carrying costumes used by Thai folk drama-troupes) . The house is Karen style made from hay and woods.It belonged to Karen family for 100 years.It used to situated beside a stream in Karen village.After that we bought it and moved it to locate at KaoMai Lanna resort by separating it into pieces and composing it together again to make it easier for transportation. |
